Pair of Titi-Tyy Bird Whistles

This set contains of two birds. Titi-tyy is a mini sculpture that also functions as a bird whistle.

Dimensions:
12.5 cm x 4 cm x 6 cm, approximately 97 g. There are two in this set.

Material:
High-fired white stoneware and colored stoneware, hollow inside, sealed at the bottom with a 3M sticker containing product information.

Decoration:
Hand-printed and cut serigraphy/monotypia with colored glaze.

The Titi-Tyy originates from snowy Finland in the far north. Little is known about this bird’s mating rituals or reproduction, as no observations have ever been made of their eggs or juvenile birds. However, it is known that Titi-Tyy birds reproduce year-round, even in Finland’s extreme conditions. They are said to nest in kilns that reach temperatures of up to 1,260°C, making it nearly impossible to study their reproduction.
